Opinion: Massena resident says he predicted 'whataboutism' reply

To the Editor:

I just wanted to thank the author for proving my point made in my earlier submission when I predicted that there would most likely be a “whataboutism” reply, rather than a serious examination of the actual facts.

As a current and lifelong registered Republican since 1988, since I was first old enough to vote for then President George H.W. Bush, I’m not sure who the “leftists from Massena, the cesspool of St. Lawrence County” might be that the author may be referring to.

And I don’t know. I kind of like Massena. Not too big. Not too small. Been living here full-time since late 2005. It has its problems like every other community, sure, but I’ll have to ask my realtor to procure me some listings info for Knapps Station, because it sounds like it must be a real angry person’s paradise.

Also, I work full-time, so I’m in bed every night by 9:30pm…far too early for Jimmy, or Colbert. I consume my news the old-fashioned way…newspapers (online now though, these days, of course). I subscribe to many of them.

But I am triple-vaxed and do wear my mask still, because I take my health care advice from my health care professionals, not from Fox News, or Social Media, or the internet. Got me red-handed there.

“Ignorance” as defined, and as accused, is a lack of knowledge or understanding. I provided researched facts and documentation to my position and argument. The author may want to consider doing the same, rather than resorting to recycled talking points.

Perhaps the author might also want to also look up “Bias”.
