Opinion: Massena man supports Curran for Legislative District 15 seat

To the Editor:

I live in Massena, and while I don’t live in St. Lawrence County Legislative District 15, I would vote for Rita Curran as my legislator if I did.

She represents Waddington, Louisville and part of Massena, and she does a great job.

Rita is a steadfast, principled person who works hard for her constituents. Unlike her challenger, Rita does not change political parties or stances on issues to go with the winds of politics.

In short, she will not sell her soul to be elected.

She does her research, regularly reaches out to and speaks with the people she represents and always acts in their best interests.

Although she is a proud, conservative Republican, Rita does not wait for party bosses to tell her what to say or how to vote.

As a health care professional who primarily assists veterans, Rita is a vital part of the community ensuring that those who sacrificed for us and our country are well cared for and kept as healthy as possible.

She works hard for our veterans and our community as a whole by being a person of commitment and integrity.

Rita will not trot off to run for the next political feather to add to her cap. She will stay here to serve us.

When voters in Legislative District 15 head to the polls this November, their choice will be obvious: on one hand you have a political opportunist, while on the other hand you have a dedicated public servant in Rita Curran.

If it were my choice, I’d vote for Rita. I encourage you to do likewise.
