Opinion: Justice Ginsburg's equality example pushes Canton Dems harder, committee chair says

To the Editor:

Beyond the popular RBG moniker, we praise the cross-party life and jurisprudence accomplishments as we mourn the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

So where do we go, what do we do, from here? With only 40-some days until the Nov. 3 election, we who vote for RBG's fights for equal rights, voters' rights, civil rights, human rights, and women's reproductive rights must GOTV, Get Out The Vote.

We must all do our parts, each in our own ways, to work by registering young and old, calling and writing, we in Canton, working for votes for these five women - Kamala Harris, Tedra Cobb, Nicole Duve, Renee Cole, and Rosemary Philips, plus these two men, Joe Biden and Alex Hammond, as a memorial to RBG and to save our cherished Democracy.

Let's also write our U.S. Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand and to members of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee to do all legal possibilities to delay the vote on the President's Supreme Court candidate until after the January 2021 inauguration of Joe Biden and the majority takeover of the U.S. Senate by the Democrats.

Marilyn and I plan to vote early in person, October 24, 9 a.m., in Canton, at the St. Lawrence County Human Services Building, 80 State Highway 310, 2nd floor conference room, accessible by stairs or elevator. Please vote your conscience and hopes, not your fears and fables.
