To the Editor:
I am a retired road patrol sergeant from the St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Office. I am writing to endorse Rachelle Foster for Canton Town Justice.
Over the past few years, one of the difficulties that has plagued the Sheriff's Office and other local law enforcement is the unavailability of Judges.
When Judges are not available to do arraignments, an officer has to sit with the person at the office and is then unavailable to respond to emergencies, such as someone breaking into your home, a domestic violence incident or accident. Judge Rosemary Phillips is one of those Judges.
While I know Rosemary to be a nice person and experienced attorney, she rarely answers her phone when called. While I understand no person can be available all the time, her record is extremely poor.
Rachelle Foster has a proven record of being available when she worked for the New York State Police as an investigator. I believe she will be available when needed as town justice for Canton. Please cast your vote for Rachelle and assist local law enforcement with doing their jobs keeping you and the community safe.
