In response to “Make SLC Sanctuary for 2nd Amendment” which appeared in the April 1-16 issue of North Country This Week: The laws being passed are not meant to restrict you as a law-abiding citizen from having guns but to help prevent those who increasingly break the laws from escalating their crimes with violence.
Your well-regulated militia is already enforced with the military personnel, state guard, and national guard.
The problem is the fact that private citizens feel that they are allowed guns and to create their own militias to fight the "tyranny of government" and become freedom fighters spouting out that they are part of the 3% and that they will keep things in check.
George Carlin stated it best: "If firefighters fight fires, and crime fighters fight crime, what do freedom fighters fight"
It is ignorant to state that a well-regulated militia will keep the government in check.
Here is a good thing to think about: The KKK considered themselves a well-regulated militia.
