To the Editor:

To my dear fellow American and St Lawrence County family,

I write to you with a heavy heart, with the state of our country in my thoughts. You might be in the place of discouragement or even apathy today as you look around and almost do not recognize this place we call home, “The land of the free and the home of the brave.”

Well, we are still its citizens and our love is still for this place we call home. I just want to remind you of the words “If God be for us, who can be against us?” Maybe you have never heard this before or maybe you have lost sight of this promise. There are many voices and distractions trying to steal this from our hearts. Let me assure you that His word is “the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Yes, it is the word of God, the Bible.

Am I a Bible thumper? Call me what you will, but right now in our world when many are wondering, where do we go and what can we do, have we finally come to the place where men cannot help and only God can? He still loves America and His people. He says ‘if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and I will forgive their sins and will heal their land.” This is a promise from our creator. Then what should we do? Yes, pray, but also put action to our prayers. We must vote and we must help others to see the importance of voting. We cannot stand by any longer and let our neighbor do it. We are the neighbor, we are His children, we are our own best friend, and we are citizens of this country.

Have you had enough yet? Are you ready to let your light shine and get engaged? This is life or death for this country. We have no place to go but up. We must win this nation, with our God, for our children and grandchildren. This is one of the most important things we will do in our lifetime. This rests on us. We cannot fail or step back now. We will go together, we will act together, and we will win, but only if we believe that all things are possible with God. We are still “one nation under God.” No one can take this from us. If we do not come together and act, we will forfeit this great gift we have been given.

Arise, stand, and move out to your post dear soldier of God and this nation. This is the acceptable time; are you ready? We will see victory as we march shoulder to shoulder, arm in arm, heart to heart. God truly bless each of you. We are here for such a time as this. We can, we must, and we will. Let our conscience be our guide, our heart be our ruler, and our prayers and vote be our weapon.

Remember, “If God is for us, who can be against us?”
