To the Editor:
The Town of Canton is very luck this year to have two well qualified candidates running for Highway Superintendent, Jim Gibson and Steven Smith. Both are lifelong Canton residents.
Jim Gibson has been a professional heavy equipment operator his entire life and has run a successful business for over 20 years. As the owner of Gibson & Son, Inc., Jim has done work for hundreds of area residents and also many businesses and schools in the area. As a business person, he has the experience working budgets, dealing with employees and the public.
His years of experience have taught him when you can save money on a job and when you have to spend money to make the job the best investment for the long run.
The main thing is for everyone to get out to vote and good luck to both candidates. Early voting started June 12 and continues through the 20, primary elections are scheduled for June 22.
