To the Editor:

It is my pleasure to write this letter in support of the candidacy of Rachelle Foster for Canton Town Justice in the coming November election.

Having served with the same professional police force, I did not have the opportunity to serve alongside her during our careers.

However I have had the opportunity to observe her firsthand conducting an investigation involving the death of our friend’s mother

Ms. Foster was understanding of the family’s loss of this family member; she was thorough in collecting information regarding the deceased’s health issues and took the time to explain her role in this tragedy and what she could do to assist the family.

Ms. Foster has served the people of this State and those of St. Lawrence County to the highest of standards for over twenty years. She has responded to calls during family gatherings which called for her skills as an Investigator. Such inconveniences happened often and she has responded to do whatever was required of her to successfully conclude the event.

As I can attest from my career, most calls happen “after hours” when you are at home with family or friends. She has never hesitated to respond when she was called upon. I’m confident she would do the same if elected to the Town Justice position. Although Justice Courts do have regular hours, crime or criminals do not.

Ms. Foster will bring a new perspective to the Canton Court. In her law enforcement career she has daily acted as a mediator or arbiter of facts and circumstances between individuals. Her fellow workers report that she has calmly settled disputes that under the right circumstances could have escalated to physical confrontations.

The residents of the Town of Canton would be well served by Ms. Foster. Please vote for Rachelle Foster on Tuesday, November 3rd.
