To the Editor:

Thoughts on local politics: One of the big deals that has happened in the Town of Canton was the excellent rating by the comptroller's office. They rated the town's financial situation at 0.0 which is their highest rating.

It means that the board has fixed all the many problems of the last administration and gone on to further the town's financial health. To my knowledge there was no media coverage and no noticeable anything on this.

I think of what the opposite would have produced in terms of negative comments and probably media attention.

It's too bad that this good news wasn't covered but at the end of the day, it's how the board does business – low key, efficient and transparent.

At this point they are the poster child for fiscal responsibility and I congratulate them.
