Opinion: Duffy will make positive changes in Assembly, says brother

I have known Susan her whole life as I am her older brother and one of nine boys who grew up with her. As the only girl sibling she very early on in life found out what it was like to fight for just about everything she got. It was clear from an early age that she was very driven and determined to make a better life for herself.

I always tried to catch her before she got home from school on report card day to get a look at her grades as they would always be something to be proud of and I wanted to be the first to tell everybody. After graduation she went on to get her nursing degree, got married and then started her family. Unfortunately, after being moved around the country her marriage ended in divorce and her raising her three children on her own.

She went to work for a small Ozone Company as a sales representative and ended up taking over the company and transforming it into Queenaire Technologies which is a formidable player in the Ozone purification business. Her major clients are the large hotel chains, resorts, medical centers, car dealerships, recycling centers, restoration companies, etc. Susan also took over manufacturing of her products and moved the assembly to Ogdensburg, NY where she built a manufacturing site and hired local people. Many of the original employees still work there.

Susan became the first female member of the Lisbon Town Council and took on the good old boy network and shook things up to the true benefit of the community.

Susan also was a charter member of the Snack Pack Program where food and snacks were provided to kids in schools who might not have gotten a sufficient meal. She made room in her manufacturing site for the assembly of the kits that fed them.

One thing is for certain, if Susan sets her sights on making positive change to improve the quality of life for the people she loves and believes in, it will happen.

Please support her for Assembly of the 116th River District. She will make a difference.
