Opinion: Donations at Norwood festival benefit Hurricane Dorian victims

Posted

As participants in the 48th annual Autumn Festival at the Norwood Village Green on Sept. 21, volunteers from The Community Lunch Program for Kids had a table providing free make-your-own sundaes, and free cotton candy.

We had a donation box on our table, with a label that all donations would be forwarded to an organization supporting victims of Hurricane Dorian.

We would like to let everyone know that a donation in the amount of $160 has been made to The Grand Bahama Disaster Relief Fund, thanks to the generosity of folks who passed by our table that day.

CLPK is a volunteer organization supporting our youth from NNCS facing food insecurity during school vacations, but this is evidence that we are part of a community that also provides support to folks in need outside our local area.

Thanks to everyone for your donations.
