In response to “Opinion: Stefanik Making Her Own Narrarive, St Lawrence County Democratic Committe says” the holiday season is over, but the SLC Democrats are still burping up the undigested fragments of their party's botched Christmas Impeachment, and are trying to convince voters that out of the decaying leftovers of that fiasco, they can somehow put together a presentable Return of the Impeachment in time for Easter.

In the meanwhile, no one is interested in the story anymore. When talk show hosts begin to discuss it, viewers' eyes glaze over and they switch to something more exciting, such as the Cooking Channel. They ask themselves, "Didn't I already see this when I was wrapping presents in December? Why are they showing it again?"

There is only one way in which the Democrats could revive what little interest people might have had in the impeachment and that is to call as a witness someone whose public and private life is so scandalous that viewers would be as titillated as if they were watching a political-dynasty soap opera. Unfortunately for the Democrats, however, producing such a witness would certainly shatter once and for all whatever fond hopes they might have of removing the president.

Watching the coverage of his party by fellow-traveler journalists, Jeremy Corbyn and his retinue of socialist courtiers were convinced that the entire UK was behind them...until the election results came in. In like manner, as they delight in their party's propaganda being regurgitated back to them on television, Democratic Party leaders have convinced themselves that viewers nationwide are transfixed by the warmed-over-for-the-umpteenth-time impeachment hash.

But in the North Country at least, the only people who are managing to stay awake when impeachment coverage comes on are the members of the SLC Democratic Committee.
