To the Editor:
In a way it is a blessing for supreme court justice Ruth Ginsberg had to be suffering and her death ends the terrible suffering endured by those who contract pancreatic cancer. But in another way being described by the author of “Rage” Bob Woodward, her death is a seismic happening.
When the news flashed on the monitor of my Gateway computer the wheels started turning in my head. Seismic didn't fit. I thought this is "cataclysmic" without the violence but hold on to that thought for violence may result.
My mind thought President Trump is going to quickly nominate her replacement and senator McConnell is going to, as fast as possible, successfully push a very conservative replacement to the court.
Ted Cruz said it must be done quickly for in event of a gridlocked election the court must have all nine members in place.
Finally the consequences for the democratic party are devastating for if elected they would be hamstrung by a majority conservative high court. If not elected Roe v Wade is gone and that is where the violence could result.
