To the Editor:
Greetings to Every Town of Colton Resident,
For those who do not know me, my name is Ronnie Robert and I am the Supervisor of the Town of Colton. I have lived in Colton my entire life. My wife Nancy and I have raised two sons, and been active, for decades, in various community organizations and activities. I am proud to continue my service as your Town Supervisor.
I would like to acknowledge and thank the Town Board, Kevin Hawley and our Highway Department, Darren Richards and our Department of Public works, Jennifer Cole, Town Clerk, Laurie Wright and Shelley Rayner. They are all responsible and committed to the day-to-day operations that keep our town functioning. Lastly, my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the many volunteers and local merchants who provide support and assistance whenever asked. Our success is truly a team effort.
We are continually working to maintain and improve our community’s services and experience. These include:
● Designing and building a safer more efficient Transfer Station - Costs will be offset with a matching grant.
● Friends of Higley secured grants to build a “Sled Shed” to improve trail maintenance - Have you seen the weekend activity at the park? Families! Children!
● A $400K grant has been secured to upgrade our wastewater treatment plant - Kudos to Justin Johnson and the DPW team for keeping the plant functional for decades.
● A new Salt Barn was built and has been functional since 2022.
● The Friends of the Library secured a grant for a Story Walk greenspace.
● Upstone Materials, S&L Electric, Kirke Robideau, Ben Johnson, Nancy Francis, Mike Morse and Casella have all donated time and materials for numerous projects.
While I cannot list every successful project, grant, generous business and individual volunteer in this letter, please take the time to visit our website to see a more comprehensive list. And, please take the time to thank these people and acknowledge their commitment to our wonderful community.
The town board and staff have many projects and ideas in motion and I ask for your support and guidance. My door is always open.
Ronnie Robert
Town Supervisor
