To the Editor:
I and the Town Board want to express our support for the family of Justin Johnson. For those of you who do not know, Justin is the Assistant DPW Supervisor. He and his wife Ali are currently with their son, Oliver, in Colorado while he recovers from a serious skiing accident. Oliver, we wish you a speedy recovery.
The Town will soon open bids for our new transfer station. I want to thank Darren Richards and the DPW staff for all their work clearing the site. Inhouse capabilities have allowed the Town to save money on many past projects. Well done gentlemen.
Kevin Hawley and the Town Highway Department have started spring road and street cleanup. Our 11 Downtown" looks great. My thanks to the Highway Department for keeping our roads clear throughout the most recent long winter.
I also want to recognize Jennifer Cole- Town Clerk, Shelley Rayner- Bookkeeper, Laurie Wright- Water and Sewer Clerk, Donna Buckley- Deputy Town Clerk and Keyboard Specialist for the Supervisor, and the Town Board. We are all here to address town issues and provide services to the community.
We are starting to put together a 11 Lazy Hazy Days" summer event around 15th of July with lots of activity. More on this as we get everything together. I will keep everyone posted. This should be a really fun day with a parade. Let's put Colton back on the map.
Something on your mind? Ideas and suggestions that will help improve our community. I will make myself available to the public starting Friday May 12, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Feel free to stop by to have coffee and a donut and share your ideas for Colton or ask questions concerning our town. I am looking forward to meeting you and hearing your ideas.
Ronnie Robert
Town Supervisor
