To the Editor:

This year our Perennial Plant Annual Fundraiser was held on May 7 at the Strutt your Mutt event at Pine Street Arena. This was organized by Alycia Maynard of the Potsdam Humane Society.

The proceeds of the sale amounted to $1,200 and have again been split this year. $850 will be donated to the Potsdam Humane Society for the care and comfort of the dogs and cats under their care. $200 was donated to filling the downtown planters, as organized by Lou Ann Lange, and $150 to purchase some new flowers and fertilizer around the gazebo in Ives Park.

The Clarkson Garden Club would like to thank Kevin and Jennifer Blanchard of Willow Tree Florists for their donation of a lovely white, pink and purple Bacopa Hanging Basket as a raffle prize. It was won by a gentleman on Pine Street in Potsdam.

In addition, we would like to thank Daryl Kolanko of Potsdam Agway for the donation of three flats of yellow, deep purple, and maroon pansies.

Lots of Clarkson and Potsdam Garden club members and local residents took part in digging perennials, starting seeds and helping setting up the event.
