In response to “Experience Doesn’t Guarantee Results, Judge Candidate Says” which appeared in the Sept. 5-11 issue of North Country This Week: I would like to ask Greg Storie the same questions he asked Nicole Duve.

Do you possess a NYS Pistol Permit? If so, was it issued as a restricted permit or non-restricted? If it is a non-restricted permit, how were you able to get it?

Do you own any handguns or long guns? Are you a hunter? Have you ever taken a gun safety course? It seems to me, when he makes mention of these questions, it is only fair for him to answer them as well.

I have known Nicole Duve for sometime now and as a retired law enforcement officer I have never heard her make any anti-gun remarks or anti-2nd Amendment remarks. Judge Richards had his own way of doing business and so does she. Just because she worked for an individual that was not 2nd Amendment friendly, does not mean she has the same views. I know for a fact that she enjoys the sport of shooting and hunting.

Now I would like to express my opinion on extensive experience vs limited experience. Greg Storie claims he was a Village Justice as he was, but anyone with a High School Diploma can run for Village Justice. He claims he presented a lot of cases to Nicole Duve when she was DA and many of the cases were pled down. Well, Greg Storie didn’t balk at that did he? It was a win, win for him and his clients. Plea deals are common just to keep things moving.

Nicole Duve worked diligently on the Phillips case and when Mary Rain replaced her as DA, Rain pushed the case for a conviction and the suspect was found not guilty. How did that work out?

Greg Storie claims he has 13 years of experience as a lawyer vs Nicole Duve’s 30 years as a Law Clerk, Lawyer and District Attorney.

It’s time for all to look at the person’s experience and ability, not their political affiliation or yours.
