To the Editor:
On July 9, the St. Lawrence Valley Chapter of the American Legion Riders Post #925 Norfolk held their 17th annual charity motorcycle ride to benefit “Americans Supporting Armed Services,” a program that supports local veterans who have suffered from “Burn Pit” medical issues.
Thanks to the generosity and support of many, many people, we were able to raise $11,059.05.
This level of success during these trying times would not have been possible with the steadfast support of their host American Legion John Adams Jr. Post 925 in Norfolk. The American Legion Riders would like to thank the local communities and individuals who helped them, including the following for their support and donations:
They include Potsdam American Legion Post 74, Gouverneur VFW Post 6338, Massena Amvets Post 4, Massena American Legion Post 79, Colton Pierrepont Amvets Post 262, SeaComm Federal Credit Union, Madrid American Legion Post 3741, Norfolk American Legion and Auxiliary Post 925, Heuvelton Amvets Post 1997, Potsdam Amvets Post 282, Majella LaRock, Winthrop American Legion Post 514, Star Lake American Legion Post 1539, John McCollough, Winthrop Sons of the American Legion Post 514, Parishville Amvets Post 265, Jazan Tozier, Karen O’Gorman, Kevin and Helen Sterling, Chris and Bobbie Peacock, Terry and Donna Peterson, Ogdensburg American Legion, Ogdensburg VFW Post 2936, USV MC, Barb Barish, Jim and Sharon Palmer, and Waddington American Legion Post 420.
I apologize for anyone I may have missed.
In addition, the Riders would also like to thank the Ogdensburg VFW Post 2936 for lunch, the Waddington American Legion Post 420, Colton Pierrepont Amvets Post 262, Norwood American Legion Post 68, and the Norfolk American Legion Post 925 for their hospitality during our ride.
