Norfolk Alzheimer’s benefit a success

To the Editor:

The John & Lorna Wolfe Family of Norfolk wish to extend a huge thank-you to the local community and those who traveled from distant places for making the recent Alzheimer’s disease benefit a stunning success. Through the generosity of many dozens of friends and acquaintances, nearly $1,300 was raised for Alzheimer’s research and patient services in three hours!

We especially thank those businesses and individuals listed below for their gifts of merchandise, gift certificates, and direct monetary contributions. Our guest of honor, Alzheimer’s patient Lorna Wolfe, was indeed happily pleased and surprised by the generosity of the donors of raffle prizes and monetary donations, and the community’s outpouring of love and contributions.

Thanks as well to the dozens upon dozens who purchased raffle and 50/50 tickets. Not only did so many experience the thrill of winning, but the satisfaction that an important and worthy cause was aided.

Lastly, we wish to thank the Auxiliary of The Norfolk American Legion who provided the use of the hall and delicious food. Thanks also to Bonnie Davey and her “Border Boys” band for providing the very enjoyable music all afternoon.

Those who were unable to attend the benefit but wish to help may send donations anytime in the name of Lorna Wolfe to:

Alzheimer’s Association of Central NY, 441 Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, NY 13204. Please make all checks payable to: Alzheimer’s Association of CNY.
