To the Editor:
The Canton Goldenaires send a big thank you to all who helped us with another successful Singing Valentines program. Many flower shops contributed flowers for our program this year. With the help of these local merchants, we will be able to provide more scholarships for more seniors in our local high schools. Starting at 7 a.m. and ending at 5:30 p.m., we delivered more than 50 Singing Valentines to restaurants, school class rooms, homes, and places of work.
We also thank all of you who purchased the Singing Valentines and for those who called too late to get in our schedule.
It was a rewarding day for those who purchased the Valentines, those who received them and those who delivered them.
In the past, our Singing Valentines program has provided scholarships for 23 graduating seniors from our high schools in Canton, Edwards-Knox, Gouverneur, Heuvelton, Parishville-Hopkinton, Potsdam, Madrid-Waddington and Massena.
With your help, we plan to continue this annual tradition.
