Fort La Présentation Association hosts snowshoe biathlon in Ogdensburg
The Fort La Présentation Association would like to thank everyone who participated in making the 2019 St. Lawrence Valley Snowshoe Biathlon a great success! Our 7th annual event drew runners from Vermont, Pennsylvania, across New York State as well as the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec. The event is a fundraiser for the operation and maintenance of the Abbé Picquet Trail located on Lighthouse Point in Ogdensburg. The trail is open for the enjoyment of the public.
The Association would especially like to thank our event sponsors: Scott Gray and Gray’s Gun Shop, T.J. Fiacco Construction, the St. Lawrence Sportsman Club, Forsyth’s Rifles, The Ladies of Forsyth’s Rifles – Barbara O’Keefe, Marsha Hough, Peggy Murphy and Jean Fallon, the Nicandri Nature Center, John Miller, III; and, last but not least, the volunteers who manned target stations in the woods on Saturday and Sunday – Tim Cryderman, Bill Granger, Dallas Robinson, Bill Merna, Lucas Hanss, Charlie Sheen, Dana Denhoff, Matt Sheehan, Ron Keeler and John Madower.A big thank you to all of the participants who came from both near and far to compete this year. The weather was great, and the trail conditions were nearly perfect. The Fort La Présentation Association looks forward to the 8th annual Snowshoe Biathlon slated for the first weekend in March 2020.
