Community pitches in for co-op open house

To the Editor:

On Saturday, Sept. 17, the Potsdam Food Co-op celebrated 38 years serving the North Country with its Annual Open House. The festive day was filled with music, food, and fun for members and non-members alike.

We are grateful to the local musicians who provided the wonderful sounds that filled the day and to Beth Robinson who arranged the program. The musical talents of the members of Animal Crackers, Victor Caamano & Friends of Crescent Street Jam, Victor Caamano’s Minor Swing, and Northbound were very much enjoyed by all who attended the celebration.

In addition to the creations produced by our own Carriage House Bakery and Natural Foods Deli, we are very appreciative to the co-op vendors who contributed to the Open House.

We are grateful to the Christian Science Church for allowing us to use their lawn for the day and to the Good Times Party Store of Potsdam for donating the balloons that added to the day’s festive atmosphere. Our thanks to Mary Egan of Potsdam for her talented face painting.

Thanks also to the many board members, volunteers, and staff members who assisted in the various aspects of the Open House, from preparation to set-up and from serving the wonderful selection of foods to clean-up. We appreciate their help and all they did to make this day a wonderful celebration!
