MASSENA — Two scholarships were awarded to Massena Central School graduates.
Emma LaBarge, daughter of Steve and Jen LaBarge, and Sean Murphy, son of Bryan and Trish Murphy, were awarded the Arconic Foundation Sons & Daughters Scholarship for 2021.
This is a competitive program that honors a select group of students who demonstrate excellence on many levels.
Arconic is an international company that produces aluminum products. Out of 72 applicants from Arconic’s locations around the world, LaBarge and Murphy are two out of 18 scholarship recipients.
Part of the scholarship criteria was an authentic essay regarding: “Adversity and How I overcame It”.
Both students graduated with honors. Emma will be attending Clarkson University and Sean will be attending Xavier University in the fall.
