POTSDAM -- SUNY Morrisville freshman Alana McDonald of Potsdam has been named to the Northeast Women's Hockey League (NEWHL) 2019-20 All-Rookie Team, as voted by head coaches.
McDonald, a forward, wrapped up her inaugural collegiate season with a total 12 points, netting six goals and assisting with another six.
Twice on the season she notched game winning scores, including in the Jan. 29 game over Cortland State to put the Mustangs in the hunt for a post-season bid.
The 2019 graduate of Potsdam Central is majoring in individual studies at SUNY Morrisville. She made the dean's list last semester and is about to begin lacrosse season at the college.
She is the daughter of Lisa and Randy McDonald of Potsdam.
