Norwood-Norfolk Central names students of month

 The staff at Norwood-Norfolk Central School is pleased to announce the Students of the Month for the month of November. These students are selected for their academic achievements, integrity and leadership in the school and throughout the community.

Katherine Cruz – Freshman. She is the daughter of Tanya Lashomb. Katherine is interested in reading and writing. She likes English class because they read and write a lot! She also loves to organize things such as closets, rooms, bookshelves and more. Katherine participates in chorus. Katherine plans to get a job and continue her education after high school.

Jacqueline Nguyen– Sophomore. She is the daughter of Thanh Nguyen. Jacqueline’s interests include: Reading, Drawing, and Coloring. Jacqueline says “I remember hearing reading keeps people from losing your memory so that is why I read. My fear of forgetting everything that I know in the later years of my life and mistaking my own child for a potato is what motivates me to read. Good books also motivate me to read.” Jacqueline likes to work, color, and contribute to the conversation the teacher is trying to bring across the class. She plans to graduate high school and go to university and end her youth by finishing medical school with a degree in Pharmacy

Bodie Molnar – Junior. He is the son of George and Deborah Molnar. Bodie’s interests include: Math, especially row echelon form and trigonometry, Hockey, Soccer, Running, Golf, Wii Bowling, and Guitar Hero. Bodie participates in hockey, soccer, track, Whiz Quiz, Varsity Club, and National Honor Society. After high school he plans to go to college for engineering. Bodie says “After completing college I plan to invent a see-through toaster improving the mornings of many Americans that are exposed to burnt toast. Furthermore, I plan to settle down in Minnesota with my future wife and kids, and eventually move south and live on a golf course when I retire.”

Maisie Voss – Senior. She is the daughter of Rob and Meaghan Voss. Maisie enjoys writing and talking with her family. She also enjoys hanging out with her best friends. She participates in soccer, basketball, and softball. She is a part of Stage Crew and Varsity Club. Maisie is also a member of National Honor Society. She plans to attend SUNY Plattsburgh to study Early Childhood Education.

The Norwood-Norfolk PTSA solicits gift cards from local businesses for each student. The businesses that donated are the Hotel Grande and Al Smiths of Norfolk and The Hometown Café and Lobster House of Norwood.

Also, the Teacher’s Association presents the senior student of the month with a gift card to the Clarkson Bookstore.
