POTSDAM – Morgan Stanley Smith Barney has announced that Joseph P. Fitzsimons, a first vice president, financial advisor in the firm’s Wealth Management office in Potsdam, has earned the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designation from the College for Financial Planning.
Fitzsimons has worked at the firm since 1983.
The CRPC program focuses on the pre- and post-retirement needs of individuals, enabling the financial advisor to provide clients with information about the retirement planning process from start to finish.
Recipients of the CRPC designation have successfully completed a self study or online mentor program curriculum and passed an examination covering topics such as: sources of retirement income, employer-sponsored retirement plans, retirement plan distributions and estate planning.
