MMH recognizes employees for career milestones

MASSENA -- Massena Memorial Hospital’s 16th Annual Employee Recognition Program was held to honor employees who achieved career milestones in 2010. The Employee Recognition program’s theme this year was Vision, Enthusiasm, Hard Work and Desire.

Charles F. Fahd, II, Chief Executive Officer, addressed the employees with great respect in regards to the tremendous years of dedication each employee has given to Massena Memorial Hospital. “Tonight marks yet another milestone that is truly amazing to me that we honor 58 people who dedicated their healthcare careers at MMH, as we recognize and celebrate more than 715 years of combined commitment, dedication and service excellence to our hospital and community.”

“Again, this year, we have a great deal to celebrate and be thankful for. The past twelve months, although not without challenges, will be remembered as a year of strategic planning, technological advancement, physician recruitment, and sound growth as we laid the foundation and groundwork for our future campus development,” explained Charles F. Fahd, II, FACHE, Chief Executive Officer.

“Since our last employee recognition gathering, we have received approval from the New York State Department of Health to move forward with our proposed $23 million facility renovation and expansion project. We witnessed our regulatory agencies review and approval of the Southeast Addition in record time. Before year’s end, we will have welcomed four new physicians to our medical staff, providing new full-time specialty services to our community,” Fahd said.

“As our theme this year states: Vision, Enthusiasm, Hard Work and Desire, you are a vitally important and integral part of our past and I ask you to join me in making Massena Memorial Hospital the best possible healthcare facility in the North Country for future generations to come,” he added.

This year fifty-nine employees were recognized with over 715 years of service. One employee, Carolyn Ramsdell was recognized for serving over 40 years of service in the Nutrition Services Department. Additionally, Kim Truax, Ancillary Services, Brenda Paller, North Country Veterans Clinic, and Janet LaBarge, Outreach Clinics, were all recognized for 30 years of service with the hospital. Tallying in at twenty-five years is Sue Decker and Mary Mittiga, both from Nutrition Services, and Joan Mitchell, Medical Records.

Twelve employees mark twenty years of service, they are from Administration Tina Corcoran, Public Relations and Penny Gladding, Human Resources; from Ancillary Services, Jodi White, Laboratory Services, Charlotte Gray, Outreach Clinics, Eileen Fregoe, Physical Therapy, and Robin Debien, Respiratory Therapy; from Fiscal Services, Terri Hans, Health Information and MaryEllen Judware, Patient Financial Counseling; from Nursing Services, Suzanne Trautmann, ER, Tammy Kirkey, OB, Regina (Jean) Antwine, ER, and Bobbi-Jo Lauber, ASU.

Fifteen year slates another four employees; from Ancillary Services is Eleanor LaBarge, Outreach Clinics; Fiscal Services is Gina Laba, Health Information; Nursing Services is Donna (Pepper) Heath, MSP and Snow Harper-Moulton, OB.

Ten years of service marks seven employees are: from Administration is Betty Smith, Administration; from Ancillary Services is Wayne Lincoln, Maintenance, Rena Ward and Kristie Cole, Laboratory Services and Robert Elsner, Medical Imaging; from Nursing Administration is Karen Wilkins and Michele Rowe, ICU.

Five years of service recognition includes: from Administration Larry Hatch, Information Services; from Ancillary Services is Nancy Dumas and Keeley Pomainville, Environmental Services, Billie-Jo Peets, Outreach Clinics, Renee Barto, Laboratory Services, Mary Salonick, Medical Imaging, Mary Conte, Mary Gooshaw, Tari Taylor, and Elizabeth Podgurski, Nutritional Services, Larry Dowdy and Herbert Wetherbe, Pharmacy, Matthew Hayes, Physical Therapy, Cheryl Ruest, Respiratory Therapy; from Fiscal Services is Sean Curtin, Accounting, Toni Fraser, Health Information, Roger Foster, Materials Management, Lori Hooper, Patient Accounting, Amy Love, Patient Registration; from Nursing Services is Kim McKinnon, ICU, Lisa Langtry, Dialysis, Brian Belile and Krista Cecot, ER, Kelly Durant-Adams, Sheila Irwin, Candace McDowell, and Rebecca Wiley, Medical/Surgical/Pediatric Units.
