CANTON -- At their monthly meeting on Thursday, Nov. 19, the Canton Democratic Committee accepted the resignation of Brad Mintener, marking the long-time member’s service
In a resolution, the committee recognized Mintener's 40 years of service having moved to Canton in 1979. He had been politically active in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Washington, DC.
He served on the NY state Democratic Committee for 12 years with his wife Marilyn and twice as St. Lawrence County Democratic Committee vice chair.
Mintener plans on writing a book and traveling to visit children, grandchildren and a great grandchild.
The Canton committee supports Democratic candidates seeking elected office and encourages participation in the electoral process. The committee meets monthly, with the next meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 15, at 5:30pm. All registered Democrats are welcome.
