MASSENA – Judges for the Greater Massena Chamber of Commerce 2011 annual Holiday Decorating Contest have announced the winners.
The First Place winners are as follows: North of the Grasse River--Suzanne McLean (23 Ames St.) and South of the Grasse River: Eric Ladison (14 Ransom Ave.).
Second and third Place winners are: North – (2nd Place) Victor Perry (15 Somerset Ave.) and (3rd Place) Kevin & Candace Chessman (3 Erwin Street).
On the South Side there was an unprecedented 3-way tie for second place with the following Richard & Joyce Giroux (10 School St.), John Favreau (12 Burney Ave.), Bill & Melissa Lint (43 N. Allen St.) and (3rd Place) Ann & Don Nolan (554 County Rt. 37).
Commercial businesses were encouraged to participate and this year’s winner is Season’s Gift Shop at 27 West Orvis St. They will take possession of a traveling plaque that was donated by Peets Jewelers.
This year the chamber will be presenting a special award to Janessa Scott for her innovative and eco-friendly decorating techniques used in Clopman's window on Main Street.
All winners will be honored at the December Massena Chamber Business After Hours on Thursday, Dec. 15 at Hotel Nadeau (43 Andrews St.) at 5 pm.
