Lisbon Central School announces 2020 honors students

LISBON -- Lisbon Central School is proud to announce the Class of 2020 Honors Group. Fourteen students have earned a cumulative grade point average of 90 or higher and will be recognized this year. Students in this group have taken challenging high school courses, and some have earned college credit through the AP Program, Paul Smith’s College, SUNY Potsdam, SUNY Canton, and/or North Country Community College.

Karli Thompson, daughter Karla Thompson, has earned the highest GPA at Lisbon in the Class of 2020 with a 98.79. Ms. Thompson earned college credit through the AP Program, the Early College Program at SUNY Potsdam, SUNY Plattsburgh, and North Country Community College. Karli will be attending St. Lawrence University in the fall where she will study Biology.

Alexa McKee, daughter of Todd and Maureen McKee, is ranked second in the class with a 98.49 GPA. Alexa earned college credit through the Advanced Placement Program, SUNY Plattsburgh, and the Early College Program at SUNY Potsdam. Alexa will attend Clarkson University in the fall where she will study Biology.

Nathan Spooner, son of Jason Spooner and Sarah Lajoie, is ranked third in the class with a GPA of 96.30. Mr. Spooner will graduate with an Advanced Regents Diploma and earn a Career and Technical Endorsement from BOCES in Building Trades. Nathan will be attending SUNY Canton in the fall where he will study Mechatronics.

Cameron Shippee, son of Pierre and Tonya Richer, is ranked fourth in the class with a GPA of 94.84. Mr. Shippee earned college credit through Paul Smith’s College, SUNY Plattsburgh, and the Early College Program at SUNY Potsdam. Cameron will be attending the Rochester Institute of Technology where he will be studying Computer Science.

Pyperanne Bender, daughter of Colley and Anna Bender, is ranked fifth in the class with a GPA of 94.41. Ms. Bender received college credit through SUNY Canton. Pyperanne will be attending SUNY Canton in the fall where she will major in Game Design and minor in Graphic Design and Creative Writing.

Maya Randle, daughter of Eddie and Andrea Randle, is a member of the honors group with a GPA of 93.42. Ms. Randle earned college credit through SUNY Plattsburgh and the Early College Program at SUNY Potsdam. Maya will be attending SUNY Potsdam in the fall where she will study Early Childhood Education.

Ian Kennedy, son of John and Melissa Kennedy, is a member of the honors group with a GPA of 93.02. Mr. Kennedy earned college credit through Paul Smith’s College and the Early College Program at SUNY Potsdam. Ian will be attending SUNY Potsdam in the Fall where he will be studying Psychology.

Amanda Walker, daughter of David and Sandra Walker, is a member of the honors group with a GPA of 92.98. Ms. Walker earned college credit through the AP Program, Paul Smith’s College, SUNY Plattsburgh, and the Early College Program at SUNY Potsdam. Amanda will be attending Clarkson University in the fall where she will study Biomolecular Science.

Harrison Wert, son of Paul and Karen Wert, is a member of the honors group with a GPA of 92.18. Mr. Wert earned college credit through the Early College Program at SUNY Potsdam. Harrison will be attending SUNY Canton in the fall where he will be studying Sports Management.

Angelina Schembry, daughter of Ariel and Janet Schembry, is a member of the honors group with a GPA of 92.06. Ms. Schembry earned college credit through the AP Program, SUNY Canton, and the Early College Program at SUNY Potsdam. Angelina will be attending SUNY Plattsburgh in the fall where she will study Computer Science.

Gabrielle Kroeger, daughter of James and Tara Kroeger, is a member of the honor group with a GPA of 92.02. Ms. Kroeger earned college credit through the AP Program, SUNY Canton, SUNY Plattsburgh, and the Early College Program at SUNY Potsdam. Gabrielle will be attending SUNY Oswego in the fall where she will double major in Creative Writing and Journalism.

Michael Bolesh, son of David and Stephanie Bolesh, is a member of the honor group with a GPA of 91.90. Mr. Bolesh earned college credit through Clarkson University in the Clarkson School Program. Michael will be attending New College of Florida where he will be studying Environmental Science.

Karter Jordan, son of Robert and Shannon Jordan, is a member of the honors group with a GPA of 91.28. Mr. Jordan earned college credit through Paul Smith’s College, SUNY Plattsburgh, and the Early College Program at SUNY Potsdam. Karter will be attending St. Bonaventure University where he will study Health Careers.

Hope Switzer, daughter of Delora Switzer, is a member of the honors group with a GPA of 90.13. Ms. Switzer will earn her Career and Technical Education Endorsement from BOCES in Cosmetology. Hope will be attending SUNY Potsdam in the fall where she will study Psychology.
