Lisbon Central names 18 students to its 2022 honors group

LISBON — Lisbon Central School has 18 students as part of its Class of 2022 Honors Group. The students earned a cumulative grade point average of 90 or higher and will be recognized this year. Students in this group have taken challenging high school courses, and some have earned college credit through the AP Program, Paul Smith’s College, SUNY Potsdam, and/or North Country Community College.

• Miles Gendebien, son of Blake and Carmen Gendebien, is ranked first in the Lisbon Central School Class of 2022 with a 96.41. Mr. Gendebien has earned college credits through SUNY Plattsburgh, SUNY Potsdam, Jefferson Community College, and Paul Smith’s College. Miles will be attending Tufts University in the fall, where he will study Political Science.

• Calea LeBel, daughter of John and Sarah LeBel, is ranked second in the class with a 96.10 GPA. Ms. LeBel has earned college credits from Jefferson Community College, SUNY Plattsburgh, Paul Smith’s College, SUNY Potsdam, and AP. Calea will be attending Rochester Institute of Technology in the fall, where she will study Chemical Engineering.

• Noah Martin, son of James Martin and Nichole and Daniel Rutherford, is ranked third in the class with a 94.91 GPA. Mr. Martin will earn a Career and Technical Endorsement from BOCES in Building Trades. After graduation, Noah will be entering the workforce at Pepsi-Cola Ogdensburg Bottlers.

• Rowan Rishe, son of Anthony and Mary Rishe, is ranked fourth in the class with a GPA of 94.72. Mr. Rishe has earned college credits through SUNY Potsdam, Paul Smith’s College, and Jefferson Community College. Rowan will be attending Clarkson University in the fall, where he will study Software Engineering.

• Emily Jordan, daughter of Christopher and Katie Jordan, is ranked fifth in the class with a 94.41 GPA. Ms. Jordan will earn a Career and Technical Endorsement from BOCES in Allied Health. Ms. Jordan has earned college credit through North Country Community College and SUNY Potsdam. Emily will be attending SUNY Potsdam in the fall to study Early Childhood Education.

• Tien Huynh, daughter of Long and Loan Hunh, is ranked sixth in the class with a GPA of 94.18. Tien will be entering the workforce after graduation.

• Matthew Walker, son of David and Sandra Walker, is ranked seventh in the class with a 94.06 GPA. Mr. Walker has earned college credits through SUNY Potsdam and AP. Matthew will be attending Russell Sage College in the fall, where he will be studying Nursing.

• Riley Beldock, daughter of Scott and Stacy Beldock, is ranked eighth in the class with a GPA of 93.98. Ms. Beldock has earned college credits through SUNY Potsdam and Paul Smith’s College. Riley will be attending SUNY Potsdam in the fall, where she will be studying Graphic Design & New Media.

• Jayden Williams, son of Christina White and Robert Williams, is ranked ninth in the class with a GPA of 93.78. Mr. Williams will earn a Career and Technical Endorsement from BOCES in Automotive Technology. Jayden will be entering the Workforce after Graduation.

• Trent Williams, son of Christina White and Robert Williams, is ranked tenth in the class with a GPA of 92.93. Mr. Williams will earn a Career and Technical Endorsement from BOCES in Automotive Technology. After graduation, Trent will be entering the workforce at the State Highway Department.

• Mikaela Buckley, daughter of Dan and Karen Buckley, is ranked eleventh in the class with a GPA of 92.91. Ms. Buckley has earned college credit through SUNY Potsdam and Paul Smith’s College. Mikaela will be attending Houghton College in the fall, where she will be studying Psychology.

• Abigail Evans, daughter of Chad and Colleen Evans, is ranked twelfth in the class with a GPA of 92.90. Ms. Evans has earned college credit through SUNY Potsdam and Jefferson Community College. Ms. Evans will earn a Career and Technical Endorsement from BOCES in Culinary Arts. Abigail will be attending SUNY Potsdam in the fall, where she will be studying Psychology.

• Abigail Avery, daughter of Lisa Newcombe and Aaron Avery, is ranked thirteenth in the class with a GPA of 92.49. Abigail will be attending SUNY Potsdam in the fall, where she will be studying Psychology.

• Cody Claxton, son of Ryan and Marianne Claxton, is ranked fourteenth in the class with a GPA of 92.13. Mr. Claxton will earn a Career and Technical Endorsement from BOCES in Natural Resources Management. Cody will be attending SUNY Potsdam in the fall, where he will be studying Environmental Science.

• Chase Jacobs, son of Richard and Sarah Jacobs, is ranked fifteenth in the class with a GPA of 92.09. Mr. Jacobs has earned college credits through SUNY Potsdam and Paul Smith's College. Chase will be attending Alfred State College in the fall, where he will be studying Surveying and Geometrics.

• Julia Rishe, daughter of Anthony and Mary Rishe, is ranked sixteenth in the class with a GPA of 91.26. Ms. Rishe has earned college credit through SUNY Potsdam, Paul Smith’s College, and Jefferson Community College. Julia will be attending SUNY Potsdam in the fall, where she will be studying undecided.

• Mathew Dean, son of Rob and Aimee Dean, is ranked seventeenth in the class with a GPA of 90.81. Mr. Dean will earn a Career and Technical Endorsement from BOCES in Metal Working. Mathew will be attending SUNY Canton in the fall, where he will be studying Civil Engineering.

• Marissa Robinson, daughter of Michael and Amy Robinson, is ranked eighteenth in the class with a GPA of 90.55. Ms. Robinson has earned college credit through SUNY Potsdam and Paul Smith’s College. Marissa will be attending SUNY Potsdam in the fall, where she will be studying Education.
