OGDENSBURG – Each season Ogdensburg Command Performances presents the Franky Award, created in 1992, to honor an individual or an organization that has shown extraordinary commitment to OCP.

This year’s recipient is Bill Hosmer, owner of Hosmer’s Marina and Smuggler’s Cafe in Ogdensburg.

Each recipient has supported OCP generously with their time, energy, and/or resources.

The award was named to honor Frank Schwartz, the founder and director, who in1963 inspired 7 determined citizens to bring the Performing Arts to Ogdensburg.

“Tonight’s awardee grew up in Ogdensburg and has demonstrated his commitment to the community through his financial investments. He has also shown his belief that the Performing Arts have an economic, educational, and cultural impact on the community,” said Sally Palao, OCP administrator.

“The contracts OCP signs involve thousands of dollars, including hospitality requirements. Hosmer has helped for years by very generously providing as many as 50 meals/show. On occasion, he and his wife have even cooked and delivered the meals themselves,” she added.
