OGDENSBURG -- The Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce has announced the April BOCES Student of the Month is Alex Shanko, a senior from Ogdensburg Free Academy.
Alex is in the BOCES Health Careers Program taught by Christina Denesha. He is working as a task aid and will transition into a CNA after the state test. He plans to work as a CNA while pursuing his degree in nursing at SUNY Canton in the fall.
“Alex is very passionate about helping people, which will make him a great CNA,” said Ms. Denesha. “He is willing to help with whatever task needs to be completed. At Clinical he took time to talk to the residents and listen to their words of wisdom.”
Alex received a certificate from BOCES, a Chamber Dollars check sponsored by Jones Insurance Agency and a plaque from the Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce.
