OGDENSBURG -- Four people recently received boating safety certificates for completing the Ogdensburg Coast Guard Auxiliary’s “About Boating Safely” course.

Sisters Prudence Cutwa and Jolie Cutwa, and Ty Robert and his grandfather William Dafoe all are now certified.

They learned navigation rules, legal requirements, rules of the road, and emergencies on the water.

Eight hours of training that is required in New York State for anyone operating a personal watercraft (jet ski) and those born after May 1, 1996 operating a motor boat.

For further information about dates and times for courses by the Ogdensburg Coast Guard Auxiliary, call 315-605-8041.
