Family Court Judge candidate Lesyk receives third union endorsement

MASSENA —Alexander Lesyk, a candidate for Family Court Judge in St. Lawrence County, received an endorsement from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 2032, a brother from the CSEA. As a union member, Alex appreciates the value of union membership and the importance of labor support.

Local 2032 represents the members employed at St. Lawrence FDR Power Project in Massena.

Over the past over 38 years, Lesyk has interned with DC 37, New York City’s largest municipal public employee union while attending Fordham Law School. He has worked as Chief Assistant District Attorney, as well as mentoring other Assistant DA’s, was the head of the Public Defender’s Office in Franklin County and worked for North Country Legal Services. While working in the District Attorney’s Office he consulted with the Teamsters to unionize the office. While this effort failed, they were able to raise their salaries to be competitive to other upstate NY counties. He was employed as an Associate Professor of Legal Studies at SUNY Canton as well as the Chairperson on the Business Department. Most recently, he is the Principal Court Attorney for the Hon. Robert G. Main Jr., acting Family Court Judge in Franklin County.
