In honor of Nov. 14 being World Diabetes Day, 15-year-old DeKalb native Devin Edward turned his hair blue.
Devin was recently selected as a St. Lawrence County Hero, received a proclamation from Sen. Patty Ritchie and won the coveted Golden Sneaker Award from JDRF Central NY.
November is Diabetes Awareness Month. Be aware of the symptoms: excessive hunger/thirst/urination, fatigue, mood changes.
If you want to show your support for people with diabetes, wear blue on Fridays in November and as always give generously to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation via Devin Sterling Edward at jdrfevents.donordrive.com.
