COLTON -- Colton native Joshua Fountain, and United States Air Force recruiter of Potsdam, was promoted to Technical Sergeant and re-enlisted for four more years of service on February 29.

Surrounded by family, friends, and colleagues the ceremony was held at the VFW in Canton. Joshua's uncle Dale Fountain (USAF Ret.), and close friend and colleague MSGT Matthew St. Onge (Gold badge recipient for fiscal year 2011) performed the "tacking" of his stripes into place.

Captain Joseph Miller, who was the recruiter of Potsdam in 2002, and was responsible for helping Joshua pursue his Air Force career, was the enlisted officer to re-enlist him as well.

Joshua was stationed at Eglin AFB in Florida for five years and was a weapons bomb loader on F-16 fighter jets before taking this recruiting assignment. He will be returning to Florida in September to Tyndall AFB where he will be continuing with his weapons career working on F-22 fighter jets.

Joshua is married to Karen Fountain and has two sons, Gage and Grayson Fountain. He is the son of Donna Huss, Cheektowaga, and Randy Fountain, Barneveld. He has three siblings, Justyn and Adriell Fountain, Buffalo, and Nicholas Fountain, South Colton.
