CANTON – Kimberly Peck, owner and operator of Studio 95 Hair Salon, recently attended the Paul Mitchell School Advanced Academy in Pleasant Hill, Calif.
The three day course Peck studied was entitled “Core Cutting and Color.”
The course offered instruction in advanced techniques such as vertical, diagonal, and horizontal weight distribution, selecting haircuts to match hair color, and matching hair color with hair cuts.
Students also learned how to apply dimensional color using section variations. The class was a combination of practical applications and theory.
David Holland, the instructor of the course, is a full-time stylist and member of the artistic team at Lunatic Fringe Salon in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He has worked with such Hollywood stars as Liv Tyler and Kate Hudson.
Studio 95 is a full service beauty salon located at 95 Main Street in Canton. Peck has owned the salon for six years and has been a full time stylist for the past 12 years.
The salon features Paul Mitchell products.
“This was an incredible opportunity to increase my skills and to be able to offer my clients the latest styles and techniques. The class was absolutely fabulous. I learned so much,” states Peck.
The Paul Mitchell Advanced Academy offers classes all over the U.S., in places such as Costa Mesa, Calif., Pleasant Hill Calif., New York City, and Denver, Colorado to name a few.
Studio 95 is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with extended hours on Wednesday evening. The phone number is 386-3944.
