CANTON – A Canton area quilter has been selected as a semi-finalist for the 2102 AQS Quilt Show & Contest, April 25 to 28, at Paducah Expo Center in Paducah, Kentucky.
Rebecca Muir MacKellar has been chose to display the quilt, ‘Fairer Still the Moonlight,’ along with 376 others in the annual contest.
Three quilting authorities will judge the quilts, awarding first, second and third place prizes in 15 categories, along with nine overall awards. Winners will be announced at the Awards Presentation at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 24.
Cash awards totaling $120,000 will be granted, including $20,000 for the Janome Best of show. All quilts will be displayed at the show, expected to draw more than 30,000 people.
