Graduations took place at Canton, Potsdam, Colton-Pierrepont, Heuvelton and Hermon-DeKalb schools on Friday

Students across the North Country earned their diplomas Friday at ceremonies held in local school districts. Below is a breakdown of some ceremonies held on Friday with class leaders and a list of graduates.

Canton Central seniors walked the stage June 24 at the SUNY Canton Roo House.

The Hugh C. William Senior High School Academic Top 10 students for 2022 are Lorelei Barnum, Katelynn Bennett, Catherine DeCoteau, Emma Gainey, Caroline Hines, Mindylee Murdie, Chloe O’Shea, Jade Stevenson, Riley Taylor, Jennah Thompson.

The district outstanding vocational student was Gavin Thompson.

Canton Central's 2022 graduating class includes Scott Ahlfeld, Emily Ames, Gabrielle Ames, Trinity Ashley, Lorelei Barnum, Madalyn Bascom, Kaden Baxter, Dylan Bedlock, Katlynn Bennett, Julie Bessette, Kayla Booth, Hayden Bregg, Taiton Bronson, Evan Buchardt, Bryce Butterfield and Cayden Cady.

Also graduating are Olivia Cameron, Olivia Chambers, Dawson Cunningham, Catherine DeCoteau, Madison Dettmer, Makayla Douglas, Christopher Downs, Mason Eller, Jack Filiatrault, Elizabeth Finnerty, Emma Gainey, Leif Goldie, and Jacob Hance.

Potsdam Central School held its 2022 graduation ceremony June 24 at Hosmer Hall at SUNY Potsdam.

This year’s valedictorian is Luke Brosell and their salutatorian is Claire Murphy.

Commencement speakers included high school social studies teacher Jara Filiatrault, Class of 2022 secretary and P2 Club vice-president Madeline Wheeler and Class of 2022 President Jay Baycura.

This year’s graduate include Grace Austin, Lydia Austin, Rhece Barrett, Catherine Barstow, Trevor Bates, Juliana Batich, Alexander Baxter, Jay Baycura, Elihah Besaw, Luke Brosell, Hunter Brunet, Simon Bullwinkel, Michael Busch, Jackson Canedy, Ariana Chiarenzelli, Julianna Collins, Emily Cook, Jemma Cooper, Rylee Cooper, Marisa Dalton, Chase Daniels and Katelyn Davis.

Colton-Pierrepont Central

Colton-Pierrepont Central School honored its 2022 senior class on Friday, June 24, in the auditorium. The valedictorian is Isabelle Vaccaro and the salutatorian is Noah Rousell.

Colton-Pierrepont seniors who graduated with a 90 or higher cumulative average are Katie Bartlett, Landree Chamberlain, Amber Erwin, Joshua Hall, Jaeleigh Jacot, William LaPierre, Alannah Long, Matilyn Lovely, Maura Richards, Michael Schwartfigure, Savanna Smith and Amanda Woods.

The 2022 senior class includes Katie Bartlett, Logan Blackmer, Landree Chamberlain, Aaron Collins, Landon Donaldson, Amber Erwin, Theodore Farns, Joshua Hall, Damion Hally, Kaleb Hamilton, Jaeleigh Jacot, and William LaPierre.

Hermon-DeKalb Central’ held its graduation ceremony on Friday, June 24, at the school.

Charles Burt, a former teacher, was a speaker at the ceremony.

This year’s valedictorian is Emma Friot and the salutatorian is Keaton Brabaw.

Hermon-DeKalb’s 2022 graduates included Andrew Blauvelt, Keaton Brabaw, Grace Burwell, Arthur Carr II, Henry Chilton, Jacob Coller, Taylor Daniels, Shelbee Elwell, Max Finley, Emma Friot, Hanna Gollinger and Billy Granger.

Also graduating are Rylie Hale, Ethan Holland, Keyvin Joj, Tracey Jones, Jocelyn Manzer, Paige Martin, Andrew Matthews, Hunter Montgomery, Juliana Remillard, Sierra Riley, Mackenzi Shumaker, Karli Shippee, Jacob Spencer, Ayden Tehonica, Taylor Thesier, and Madisyn Wright.
