On the last weekend of winter a party from the Laurentian Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club made a snowshoe ascent of Mount Van Hoevenberg near Lake Placid.
Most of the snow had melted from the south-facing slope their route followed, leaving only a narrow pathway of spring snow.
At the summit overlooking Mount Colden and the MacIntyre Range are Eileen Wheeler of Canton; John and Susan Omohundro of Hannawa Falls; Marianne Hebert of Potsdam; and John Barron of Ottawa. Photo by a hiker from another party.
