Women's history and placemats in Potsdam
Monday, April 11, 2011 - 6:30 am

The patrons of Eben’s Hearth Restaurant in Potsdam recently enjoyed their meals and a chance to learn about women in history with the 5th grade placemat history project that students at the AA Kingston Middle School designed and colored as part of Women’s History Month activities in March. This project, sponsored by the St. Lawrence County Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and the 5th grade at AAK, has been ongoing for many years. Shown in the photo (l-r) are AAK 5th grade students Hunter Wilson, Hannah Holt, Sarah Miller and Shea Jones, seated with their placemats. The second row has AAK teachers Doug Saber and Sheila Tiernan and Clarkson University engineering senior and AAUW student member Sarah Hill of Value U. The third row has AAK teacher Mary Clary, AAUW member and co-Treasurer Jennifer Ball, and AAK principal Jamie Cruickshank. (Seymour Photo)
