A long funeral procession for James Sullivan Jr., 41, Parishville, traveled down Rt. 56 near SUNY Potsdam to St. Mary's Cemetery on Sept. 17. A well-respected member of the community, James was very active in the Parishville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. He was a member of the fire department for 24 years. He was the 3rd Assistant Chief from 1992-93 and the First Assistant Chief from 94-95; then Chief from 1995-2000 and from 2002-2008. He was the St. Lawrence County Fire and Rescue Deputy Fire Coordinator for District #5. He died unexpectedly Sept. 12. Photo submitted by Heather Sullivan
