Taylor Robertson of Parishville was installed as the 2021-2022 president of the Rotary Club of Potsdam at its annual dinner on June 8. During the ceremony, Brandon LaShomb of Parishville was also recognized as outgoing president. Romeyn Prescott of Potsdam will continue as secretary and Shawn Seymour of Hannawa Falls will continue as treasurer. A North Country native, Robertson works in the Admissions and Financial Aid Office at St. Lawrence University. She graduated from Chateaugay Central School in 2008 and the University of Rochester in 2012 with a bachelor of arts degree in political science and a minor in legal studies. After graduation, Robertson worked for her alma mater before returning home to the North Country in 2016. Robertson joined the Rotary Club of Potsdam in the spring of 2019, jumping right in by serving as both program and foundation chair, before being elected president-elect. She also serves on the Spring Gala Committee, Haunted Hallway Committee and Strategic Planning Committee, as well as being involved with Dodge Pond workdays and the annual Duck Pluck. She also serves as the treasurer of the Potsdam Community Dog Park. Robertson is the daughter of Patti and the late Tod Robertson and lives in Parishville with her fiancé, outgoing Rotary President Brandon LaShomb, and their beloved and spoiled dog, Nova. The couple is expecting their first child in November. The Potsdam Rotary Club meets each Wednesday at noon at Yum Yum's Chilly Delight in Potsdam and online. Guests are welcome. Submitted Photo.
