Foster child count up in St. Lawrence County

The number of St. Lawrence County children placed in foster care has jumped 21 percent in less than two years, according to the county Department of Social Services. Drug addiction, including heroin and other opioids, is still the primary reason for the majority of cases of children in the county living in foster care, according to the county DSS.
