Deceased Pastors Service in Potsdam
Friday, May 27, 2011 - 6:23 am

All are welcome to join Potsdam United Methodists at Bayside Cemetery, Back Hannawa Road, Potsdam, Saturday, May 28, at the grave of Rev. Samuel Call to begin the fourth annual Deceased Pastors Service. The service begins at 9:30 a.m. Rev. Call, shown above, served the Potsdam congregation from 1863 to 1866 and 1884 to 1887 and was one of the first pastors to live in the present parsonage. Born and raised in Potsdam, Rev. Call may be the only pastor to be associated with all three local Methodist church buildings – the white church on the site of the present Potsdam fire station; the brick church on Main Street where the present marble church, built in 1903, now stands.
