Margaret A. Knuth, research civil engineer with the Army Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) in Hanover, N.H., ran into the Clarkson University Electric Snowmobile at Summit Station, Greenland, while working there in June. Knuth received her master's degree in civil & environmental engineering from Clarkson in 2005. Clarkson’s Electric Snowmobile team took second place in the zero-emissions division in March at the 2010 SAE Clean Snowmobile Challenge.
