The Atkinson Family Bluegrass Band is scheduled to perform at Pickens Hall, 83 State St., on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. The group, based in Pitcairn, plays classic and original bluegrass with heavy Adirondack influences, and has produced several albums to their credit. Featuring four-part family vocal harmony, driving banjo and the award-winning slide playing of David Bevins, 2004 National Resonphonic Guitar champion, the band brings a progressive edge to the High Lonesome music.
