Ogdensburg teachers donate to Gouverneur breast cancer fund-raiser

Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center’s Pink Ribbon Committee has joined with the Ogdensburg Teachers Association to raise funds for the Gouverneur Business Women’s Breast Cancer Walk Fund. B Mission of the walk, which celebrates its tenth year this May, is to address financial needs of individuals diagnosed with breast cancer. They assist patients with medical co-pays, transportation costs, food, non-covered treatments, prescription drugs, household expenses, personal care needs and child care. To date the Walk has raised over $383,000 and assisted 228 women in St. Lawrence, Jefferson and Lewis counties. Presenting the donation to the Gouverneur Business Women are Jerry Sheppard, Kay Zimmer and Christine Richardson from the Winter Cancer Center in Ogdensburg and Debbie King from Claxton-Hepburn’s radiology department, Carolyn and Terry Pistolesi from GBWBCWF, and Bob Ladouceur and Jackie Caruso from the teachers association.
