Abigail Marshall, left, 11, and Camille Marshall, 14, sisters from Ogdensburg, and founders of “PJs 4 Xmas,” recently ended their campaign with an amazing total. A total of 1,205 pairs of pajamas were collected and $3,362.05 was raised to help needy children in Ogdensburg and St. Lawrence County. The sisters wanted to make sure all children received a brand new pair of PJs by Christmas Eve. One hundred pajamas were purchased to make sure all the sizes were covered for the Ogdensburg Neighborhood Center. Also benefiting from the program were the Ogdensburg Neighborhood Center, Canton Church and Community Program, Renewal House, Salvation Army, Catholic Charities and the St. Lawrence County CDP Adopt-a-Family program. The pajama project also helped out following a family fire incident in Ogdensburg. Camille and Abby are recent recipients of the 2010 St. Lawrence County Hero Award, given by the Jules of Life Foundation. The girls would like to thank everyone who bought pajamas and for helping them reach their 1,000-pair goal. Said Camille, " We sure made a lot of friends this Christmas! That's the best gift ever.”
